Michael (Mike) was born and raised in Powell River and after a brief stint in Vancouver, moved to Victoria in 2001. He joined Raymond James Ltd. the following year and has called both home ever since.

Mike graduated from Royal Roads University with a Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management and holds a diploma in Financial Management from BCIT with a specialization in Financial Planning. During his years at Raymond James, he has earned the Chartered Investment Manager, Financial Management Advisor & Responsible Investment Advisor designations. Mike is also a Fellow of CSI, which is among the highest honours in Canadian financial services.

Throughout his 20 plus years at Raymond James, he is most proud of the long-term relationships he has forged with clients and credits this to prudent advice, thoughtful planning, and a willingness to go the extra mile to help. Mike believes that speaking in plain language and understanding clients’ values are key to building trust. “Financial advice doesn’t need to be complicated to be effective.”

Away from the office, Mike and his wife, Louise, live in Fairfield where they often can be found exploring the neighbourhood with their dog Poppy. They enjoy travel, great food and spending time working on house and garden projects. In his spare time, you’ll find Mike at the curling rink, on his bike, or watching his favourite sports team, the Seattle Seahawks (usually with Ryan).
